I was born in the beautiful island of Barbados. I started eating vegan in 2006 but as an island girl we like food big in flavour so being vegan was a bit tricky at first. As time went by I was able to enjoy some Barbadian meals after veganizing them.
My blog has moved and I have since moved to Vegan in the Sun email me for the new website

My dad use to make this most Sundays. It is a spin off to what Barbadian people eat on Sunday. They eat rice and peas some kinda meat usually baked chicken, coleslaw and a whole bunch of other vegetables. I really hated this traditional Sunday Lunch and I always complained. Anyways I am rambling.... This is rice and peas which seasoning. This rice does not need a sauce because it has high flavour. We cheated and bought a can of vegan chilli BUT we jazzed it up because nothing is good for a Bajan until we add some more flavour so my mom usually adds some chopped onion, black pepper, paprika, sweet pepper and a little curry. It is great with a corn on the cob and some raw salad.
