UPDATE: THIS BLOG HAS BEEN MOVED HERE
Howdy,
I decided I wanted to make some guacamole since I had some avocado( on the street you can hear the vendors calling it avocado pear). I decided to make some guacamole because I always knew about it but I never tried it in my life. Barbadians eat avocados just like that with rice as a side thing. I need your help as I do not know if I got the taste right.
Is it suppose to be limey because my mom said it was too limey for her. I do not mind lime or lemon as I usually drown my hummus in lemon but is guacamole suppose to be predominant lime or predominant onion and spices.
Let me know
I want to try it again
I used lime,cilantro,salt,onion,tomato and some black pepper or cumin..Hmm I don't remember

Sounds really tasty! Lime is GREAT in guac!
Looks good to me--I'm biased as far as lime goes. I add a lot of it in my guac, too. And of course you can always add some jalapenos ;)
I think the limey-ness just depends on preference. I like a slight hint of lime in mine, but not too much. I never measure. Just squeeze, stir, sample, and repeat until it's just right.
So if avocados are pears in Barbados, what do you call pears? Just curious...
Yours is about the same recipe as mine, so it sounds good to me!
guacamole? that caught my eye.... one squeeze of half a lime for 2 avocados seems right to me...but I live with a mexican and she puts lime on well..lime ....its hard to say..
you've actually done it right.. its suppose to have a slight limey taste. I guess you can always try it again with a different taste for options?
Guacamole is one of my favorite foods! I do like quite a bit of lime in mine as well. Delicious!
